Business Laws Disclaimer and Terms of Use

Terms for our Business Laws guides: general information only, a CPA firm not a law firm, no reliance, accuracy limits, and no bulk copying or AI training.

Last reviewed October 29, 2026 · 3 min read · General information, not legal advice

General information only, not legal advice. CPA Tax Payroll and Accounting Corp is a CPA firm, not a law firm. Laws change: confirm with the official source or a licensed attorney before you act. Read the full notice.

These terms cover each page in the Business Laws area of our site. That takes in the hubs, the law guides, the charts and the two cross-cutting pages.

General information only

The guides explain federal, Illinois and Cook County rules in plain English so that business owners, especially those with ties to India or Canada, can ask better questions. They are general information and education. They are not legal, tax, accounting or immigration advice, and they do not take your own facts into account. The section includes a map of 38 laws and a first-year timeline.

Ours is a CPA practice, not a law practice

Our firm is a U.S. CPA firm in the Aurora, Illinois area. We are not a law firm and we do not give legal or immigration advice. For a legal question, talk to an attorney licensed where you need help. For Canadian or Indian rules, talk to your Canadian CPA or Indian Chartered Accountant. We handle the U.S. side and coordinate with them.

No professional relationship

No client relationship is formed when you read these pages, print them or write to us from the website. For us, a client or professional relationship begins only once both parties have agreed to it in writing.

No reliance

No page should be your basis for a decision. Whether a law applies to you depends on facts we do not have, and one small detail can change the answer. Check the official source linked at the bottom of the page, or ask a licensed professional, before you act.

Accuracy and currency

We check each guide against official sources and show the date it was last reviewed. Laws, amounts, deadlines and court rulings change, and agencies sometimes publish or correct information after we review a page. A page can be out of date, incomplete or wrong. A rule labeled as proposed is not yet law. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or decision that follows from using a page.

Examples are invented

The people, companies and numbers in our examples are made up for illustration. Any resemblance to a real person or business is a coincidence.

For convenience, some pages point to government sites and other outside websites. We do not control or endorse those sites, and we take no responsibility for what they say or whether they stay available.

Copyright in this section belongs to our firm. Most official government guidance is public, and so are the laws we describe. Our ownership covers our own wording, the way the material is organized and arranged, and our tables, charts and slide shows. You may read the pages and print a copy for your own use, and ordinary fair use, such as a short quotation with credit, is not affected by this notice.

You may not copy the pages in bulk, scrape them with software, republish them, or use them for text and data mining or to train, test or improve artificial intelligence systems without our written permission. We reserve all rights.

Questions and permission requests

To ask for permission, or to ask about a page, write to us through the contact page. We cannot answer legal questions there. Our policies and about pages say more about the site and the firm, and our services cover the U.S. tax, payroll and accounting side.

Official sources

This page summarizes public guidance in plain language. If anything here differs from the official source, the official source controls.
